Description

Come discover an original musical story that will carry you away to a multitude of literary and cinematographic worlds! You will be transported from Camelot’s Arthurian legends to Sherlock Holmes’ investigations; from a ship out of Pirates of the Caribbean to a spacecraft out of Star Wars; from a universe of superheroes to that of video games, and lastly; from the pen of novelist J. K. Rowling (Harry Potter) to that of writer J. R. R. Tolkien (The Lord of the Rings) as well as of author and former British spy Ian Fleming (James Bond).

From the outset, meet Alexandra, a young teenage girl who, like so many others, doesn’t appear to be of the stuff heroes are made of. Following an unusual start to her day, Alex is handed a magic pen that allows her to visit imaginary worlds. Seeking answers to her questions, she finds herself moving swiftly from one adventure to another and coming across all kinds of characters, some of which will endeavor to prevent her from reaching her objectives. Alex will need to elucidate whom she can truly trust while having to face an unexpected menace that is threatening the balance among the worlds. Will our antiheroine see her perseverance rewarded and will she come out elevated of the battles she will have led?

This fantasy’s skillful narration is enhanced by a dynamic musical score performed live by Buzz Brass’s five musicians. The repertoire covers over 400 years of history with various excerpts stemming from both classical music and jazz. The audience will also recognize a few musical numbers taken from popular cartoons.

Unlike its other shows for young audience, Buzz Brass has made this story a streamlined production, namely a concert with narration. It is the quality of the tale and score that reigns as sole master of the house, without any sets, costumes, nor projections.
