Kuné World – Canada’s Global Orchestra is in a class by itself! Conceived and developed by the Royal Conservatory of Music (Mervon Mehta), Kuné explores and celebrates Canada’s cultural diversity. The eleven virtuoso musicians of Kuné hail from all corners of the world, playing instruments as diverse as they are to form a uniquely Canadian but global sound. The concert in its symphonic form has been performed with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (Julian Pellicano) and with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra (Andrei Feher). The program wisely balances pieces featuring the group alone as well as 8 original works with brilliant orchestral accompaniment. It also allows for two solo orchestral works.
