Unplugged

Territory represented: Canada, USA

With this cabaret-style show, La Otra Orilla returns to the traditional style of flamenco presentation. This more spontaneous performance offers an exploration of the different styles of flamenco.

At the heart of this artistic proposition lies an intimate conversation between song, dance and guitar where each participant tells the other they will speak their name. Unplugged (or Rite) is an intimate conversation between song, dance and the guitar; each element reveals itself while defining the other.

This powerful, dynamic show will appeal as much to purist aficionados as newcomers to the art of flamenco. This show can be presented in a music as well as in a dance programming.

Moi&lesAutres

Territory represented: Canada, USA

Its traditional codes updated and stripped of its traditional figures and costumes, here flamenco vibrates with sincerity and depth, with theintensity of the dancer’s presence and the powerful emotions it evokes. With the freedom of tone and form typical of La Otra Orilla, this latest opus explores themes of communicating with the other, how the other reveals our own self. Are we less alone in the presence of the other; can we be absorbed into the group? A hybrid, iconoclastic work. The flamenco of La Otra Orilla is strongly rooted in the present.
